Dr. Tian Song

Praised by the New York Concert Review, Dr. Tian Song, a recipient of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music, has been the winner of many piano competitions. In addition to many of her solo performances at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Yamaha Artist, and other venues, in both the States and abroad, she has collaborated with Manhattan School of Music Philharmonic and Redwood City Symphony Orchestra. Her teachers include Constance Keene, Abbey Simon, and Phillip Kawin.

Both a performer and pedagogue, Dr. Tian Song founded Tian Song Musical Arts, a private music school that provides professional music education for youths. Her students have competed and won numerous awards in both national and international piano competitions, which include gold medals and Audience Most Favorite Award in the Seattle International Piano Competition, first place in the Music Teacher National Association New York State Piano Competition, first place in the Music Teacher National Association Empire State Piano Competition, first place in the International Young Artist Piano Competition, first place in the Buono and Bradshaw International Piano Competition, the Judge’s Distinctive Award and first place in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition…

As the winners of these competitions, Dr. Song’s students have been featured on Sinovision New York, World Journal Newspaper, Xing Tao Daily, Brooklyn Daily, Qiao Newspaper, Phoenix News, China Youth Newspaper, Guiyang Daily, and many other news outlets. Her students have been invited to perform in the U.S. Department of State, Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, J. F. Kennedy Center, Royal Albert Hall in London, Mozart Concert Hall in Austria, Kostroma Philharmonic Hall in Russia, Schumann Museum in Germany, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Steinway Hall, Yamaha Artist, Queens Theatre, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, University of Rochester, Ithaca College, Queens College, Brooklyn College, Sinovision TV Station, Symphony Space in New York, An die Music in Baltimore, and other renowned venues.

Dr. Song’s students have collaborated with New York International Chamber Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto at Carnegie Hall, and performing Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto with Kostroma Symphony Orchestra at Kostroma Philharmonic Hall in Russia and Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra at Ithaca College Ford Hall. In addition to winning competitions, Dr. Song’s students have been accepted by The Juilliard School Pre-College Division, Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division and College Division, Kaufman Special Music School, and New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program. She has been invited to serve as a judge in many competitions.

Musical Arts

Founded by Dr. Tian Song, recipient of Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music, Tian Song Musical Arts offers highly individualized private piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, voice, music theory, and composition lessons for all ages and skill levels.

Tian Song Musical Arts prepares students to take part in the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) and the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Music Examinations. Since its establishment, hundreds of students have taken and successfully passed both examinations. Some of whom reached utmost distinction and obtained outstanding results, the highest level of achievement. In two consecutive years, students from Tian Song Musical Arts were invited to perform in the High Score Concert in the Queens Library Auditorium as a result of receiving the highest score in New York City in both piano and flute exams. In addition, many students have earned full score in the highest level of NYSSMA piano examination, and were chosen to perform at the New York School Teacher Conference in Albany, New York..

In addition to their merits and achievements, many of Song Tian Musical Arts students have passed the piano, string, and vocal entrance auditions of Mark Twain Intermediate School for the Gifted and Talented, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, and Kaufman Music Center Special Music High School, hence being offered admissions into these distinguished institutions.

Tian Song Musical Arts students have been accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School Pre-college division, Manhattan School of Music College & Pre-college divisions. Also, actively involved in chamber music, students from Tian Song Musical Arts have been selected by the Chamber Music Program of the New York Youth Symphony to perform at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, and the Juilliard School. Tian Song Musical Arts students participated in distinguished artists’ master classes, such as, Lev Natochany, Dr. Joanne Polk, Gilbert Kalish,Joel Kronsnick and many others.

In addition to master classes, students from Tian Song Musical Arts have competed and won many international and national piano competitions, which include the Yamaha Junior International Piano Competition, International E Piano Competition, Seattle International Piano Competition, National Music Teacher Association New York State Music Teacher Association Junior and Senior Performance Competitions, National Music Teacher Association New York State Music Teacher Association Empire State Piano Competition, International Chopin Competition in CT, American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition, AFAF International Piano Competition, AADGT International Passion of Music Piano Competition, Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington D.C., Hong Kong Asia Piano Open Competition, American Youth Talent & Art Contests, New York Music Competition, New York International Music Competition, NYSSMA Piano Showcase, New York State Music Teacher Association (NYSMTA) NYC Piano Competition, Ithaca College Concerto Competition, the LaGuardia High School Concerto Competition, Vita Youth Talent Show, De Yi Shuang Xin Piano Competition in China, and Taishan City Piano Competition in China. On stage competitions and performances are essential to a student’s development. Tian Song Musical Arts students have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, J. F. Kennedy Center, the United States Department of State, Royal Albert Hall in London, Schumann Museum in Germany, Steinway Hall, Merkin Hall, Yamaha Artist Salon, Symphony Space, A die Musik in Baltimore, MD, Ford Music Hall, Queens Theatre, the Sam Lavenson Recital Hall of the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts and many other renowned concert venues. In addition to solo and chamber music performances, as the winners of the competitions, Tian Song Musical Arts’ students have collaborated with the Ithaca College Symphony, New York International Chamber Orchestra, Kostroma Symphony in Russia performing Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto, “Emperor” and Second Piano Concerto in Carnegie Hall, Ford Music Hall, and the Kostroma City Concert Hall in Russia.
